Pugged Wet Clay
Bray Clays are mixed, pugged, and boxed on-site here in Helena, Montana. We are proud to be a local source of exceptional clay bodies for the Northwest and beyond. We offer a variety of clay bodies to suit every need--from throwing to handbuilding and sculpture; low-fire, mid-fire, and high-fire; and in colors ranging from translucent to white to buff to red. Our crew not only makes these clays, but works with them, too. We're here to answer any questions you have about choosing the right clay for your needs.

Archie Bray clay comes in 50lb. boxes, each box containing two 25lb. blocks of wet clay. All of our clays are thoroughly mixed and de-aired for optimal working consistency. They are ready to use out of the box, but we still recommend wedging clay by hand to align clay particles. This will help prevent later cracking during the drying and firing of your work.
We also offer a selection of Plainsman and Laguna clays.
